Rob Stoneback  

Rob Stoneback is the leader, featured trombonist, and chief arranger of the Rob Stoneback Big Band. Rob has played trombone for over 40 years.

Besides touring wit the Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, and Harry James Orchestras, Rob has performed with many stars of the entertainment world, including Natalie Cole, Johnnie Mathis, The Manhattan Transfer, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Lou Rawls, Bob Newhart, Rosemary Clooney, Jack Jones, Bobby Rydell, Sonny and Cher, Don Rickles, Regis Philbin, and Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme.

In the world of jazz, Rob has taken the  stage with Clark Terry, Stanley Turrentine, Bill Watrous, Urbie Green, and Al Grey. Will Watrous said the Rob Stoneback Big Band is “one of the finest bands I’ve ever played with.”

Rob frequently appears with many of the commercial and jazz bands in the Philadelphia area. He is noted for his high register, sweet tone, and powerful lead playing.
